Blackboard Online Course Questions
Q: How do I login to Blackboard?
A: Please make sure you follow these steps in Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari (TNU4U does not work on CHROME):
1. Go to http://TNU4U.trevecca.edu
2. On the right side of the page under the MY BOOKMARK listing, please click on Blackboard.
3. Either type in your entire TNU email address as your username OR click on the SSO Login link which passes you through
4. Use your current Trevecca email password.
If you try these steps and still experience LOGIN issues, please CALL THE HELPDESK AT 615-248-1223.
Q: I called the HelpDesk and they said that I don't even have a Blackboard account, how do I gain access?
A: Please send your course ID number (EX: ITD 6000 001) that you are supposed to be viewing in Blackboard to [email protected] where someone will research why you have not been enrolled in the Blackboard course or it has not been created yet.
Q: I'm having some technical difficulties, is there anything I can do?

Q: My Online Class starts soon, but I don't see it within my Blackboard courses, how do I find it?
A: Your online course will automatically show up in your course list 4 days before the start date.
Q: I have a mobile device, what app do I use?
A: Currently, our TNU accounts are not syncing with BB Mobile Learn or BBStudent. We will send communication once this issue gets resolved.
Q: I am a student and for some reason, I can't see my content or assignments for Week 1, how do I do this?
A: In order for Week 1 to open for your viewing, you must complete the Course Orientation Quiz and Academic Honesty Verification at the end of step 6. Once these two things are submitted, then you will see your course information for Week 1.
Q: I am a Professor and I can't remember how to input attendance, how do I do this?

Q: How do I record and post a video onto Blackboard?
A: If you have a YouTube account and are using a browser such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Firefox, you can use the "Video Everywhere" feature located in the Content Editor box. Click HERE for more information on how to do this.
If you are using a mobile device, it is best if you record your video straight to YouTube and then copy or embed the link into the Blackboard post.
Q: How do I reduce the amount of notifications being sent from Blackboard to me?
A: Once you login to Blackboard, click on the down arrow of the upper right hand corner Global Navigation menu (Gray menu with your Name on it) to click on the Settings link. Then, you can click on "Edit Notification Settings" to choose what you would like to see. Click HERE for more information.
Q: As an instructor, how do I create groups?
A: When using groups in Blackboard, there are a few ways to add group access points in your course. The Create Group Links provides descriptions, along with instructions, for creating group access points in a course. The Group Tools link may also be useful for creating group discussions, blogs, wikis, etc.

Q: When taking a quiz, there is a blue timer bar that floats in the middle of the page which is distracting. Is there a way to remove the bar so that it doesn't obstruct the view?
A: This is a known issue with Blackboard support and they are troubleshooting how to remove this distraction.
Q: As an instructor, I teach many sections of the same course at the same time, can these be combined?
A: Yes, just send an email to [email protected] with which course ID (Ex: ITD 6000 001) that you would like to be the "Parent" course to be managed, and all the other course ID's that you would like to be merged into the "Parent".
Q: As an instructor, how do I copy courses into the next sections to teach?
A: Your current content can be copied into future courses. To copy a course:
1)Under Course Management control panel on left, click Packages and Utilities
2)Click Course Copy
3)Select Copy Type:
a.Copy Course Materials into a New Course: if creating a new Master or Sandbox
b.Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course: To select Course Shell for correct semester/program- RECOMMENDED
c.Copy Course with Users: Should not use this option
4)Destination Course ID: Browse to find Existing Course to copy into
5)Select Course Materials
a.Select All to copy everything, or select certain items to copy over
6)File Attachments
a.Copy links to Course Files: Only links to other course, but not files
b.Copy links and copies of content: RECOMMENDED
c.Copy links and copies of content (include entire course home folder): not recommended
7)Enrollments
a.Should not include enrollments in the copy; this is only for archival purposes.
Once the copy is complete, the system should send you a notification within an hour…. Usually copies over within minutes

A: If your issue is specifically related to the course content material, please contact your instructor to discuss.

A: Please contact your adviser to discuss the program you are enrolled in.
